Time recording with barcodes/NFC/QR codes

The Project Start Center serves as the basis for using QR codes to start and stop projects via barcode scanner. A scanner connected to the PC is required. The mouse must be focused on the Project Start Center dialog so that the text read by the scanner can be recognized.

Activate scanner

The first step is to activate the barcode scanner in the Xpert-Timer configuration.

Generate QR code

You can either generate a QR code using the function in the start center or use a tool available on the Internet to create the barcode. The content must consist of the following information:

Option 1:

Recognition via the project number: P 2344

This is a project with the project number 2344. The P stands for "project," followed by a space and then the project number.

Alternatively, you can also use the GUID of the project from the database. Then in the following notation: P {EB921FF0-5E8A-4889-9488-7B871DB740BF}

Option 2:

Identification via the task: A 34

This is a task with task ID number 34. The A stands for "task," followed by a space, then the ID number 34.

Here, too, you can alternatively use the GUID of the task.

Starting projects with the barcode scanner

Once the barcode has been generated, attached to the file, and is ready to be scanned, all you have to do is place the mouse cursor in the "Scanner capture" field. You can also press F8 to do this. Next, scan the code and the project will start running.

If you want to change the project because you are changing files, simply scan the new QR code. Xpert-Timer automatically stops the old project and starts the new one.

Perfect for working with different files, spare parts, machines, and orders.

Open customer details with a barcode

If you mainly use customer management, you can also open customer details by scanning the barcode. This gives you immediate access to all customer data. This can be useful, for example, if you have many files and need to contact each customer.
